What is pilates
In an individual Pilates session, you can expect a tailored and whole-body approach to movement. One that emphasizes building a stable foundation, improving posture, and increasing overall flexibility and mobility. Each session will be customized to address specific goals while considering individual movement patterns, injuries, and general aches and pains.
During a session, you will be led through a series of carefully designed and choreographed mat-based exercises, along with utilizing Pilates equipment like the Reformer, Cadillac, and Wunda Chair. You will learn to incorporate breathing techniques to build overall body awareness.
Step-by-step guidance, instruction and hands-on adjustments are constant throughout the practice to ensure proper alignment and muscle engagement. Maintaining the integrity of movement leads to a strong foundation and optimal results.
MY APPROACH
I am here for you however you choose to identify. I love teaching all shapes, abilities, ages, prenatal, and postnatal. I support all BIOPIC and LGBTQIA+ and all other humans.
While I am classically trained in Pilates, I have studied many other modalities throughout my teaching years and love to integrate them into my curriculum. I incorporate bands, small props, and even light weights with breathwork to create the most whole-body experience. I will teach you patience, and intuition. I will always scale movement appropriately to ensure focus is aligned with the goal. My mission is to build not only trust between us but also teach you how to trust yourself.
I am dedicated to crafting and creating exercise plans that will push you to move better in our sessions, but more importantly in life. I will listen, and put your thoughts first. This is foremost your practice and I am here to support you. This is a practice we do together.
My goal is always to help you feel confident and strong in your movement. I love people and I love movement and to create a space where both come together is my passion. I am excited to share that with you.
Through working with Yael the last 2 years (I think) I have eliminated chronic back and knee pain entirely. You will not find anyone more conscientious and knowledgeable about how the body functions and how creative her workouts achieve results.
