Dynamic movement refers to a movement that involves a range of motion, often incorporating multiple joints and muscle groups. Dynamic movements are typically performed with control and fluidity and they can be used for a variety of purposes. For example, they can be used for improving athletic performance, increasing flexibility, and improving overall physical function. Dynamic movement can have a number of benefits for the body, including strength, mobility, and range of motion.

Dynamic movement will be built into your Pilates session by using resistance bands, bodyweight exercises, and light weights. Movements that incorporate multiple joints and muscle groups are pivotal to developing full body awareness and something that will be emphasized throughout your sessions.

DYnamic movement

I practiced Pilates throughout my three pregnancies and love teaching birthing parents during this time.

After having three babies in three years, my body was a wreck. It took me a lot of time and focus to heal. I was able to do this with Pilates. After nine months + of pregnancy and birth, your body needs a movement practice that is gentle and low-impact, allowing you the opportunity to build your strength in a gradual and thoughtful way - this is what Pilates can offer. The focus is on basic movements that help you to understand what is happening in your core and pelvic floor following childbirth, regardless of a c-section or vaginal delivery. Pilates is a great way to support your postnatal recovery.

PRE and Post Natal

Some of our joints are very stiff, while others can be loose. It is important to know which muscles should be performing which actions. Looking at stability is equally as important as mobility. Stability training creates a stable foundation. Mobility training helps to improve your range of motion and reduce any stiffness or pain. Mobility training is a foundational aspect of Pilates.
